New Balance Football has today revealed new Liverpool 2017/18 home kit as part of the Pure Liverpool FC campaign. Something very special runs through the hearts and minds of everyone who wears the Liver Bird. An undiluted passion and belief that has inspired loyal service on the pitch and unwavering support in the stands makes them all pure Liverpool.
A special crest has been designed to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Liverpool FC, the iconic Liver Bird and LFC initials are now accompanied by the 1982 and 2017 years, as well as a ‘125 years’ text. This crest will be used on all playing and training kit for the 2017-18 season.
The jersey introduces a timeless design with a white V-neck flat-knit rib collar and cuffs with red detailing. Embossed pinstripes run on the front of the jersey, while the back is kept clean. A tribute to the victims of the Hillsborough Disaster stands on the back of the collar. Laser-cut self-actuating vent details for improved thermo-regulation are placed on the underarms, while a body mapping cage designed to reduce drag and enhance jersey co-efficiency is implemented on the back.
A Holographic woven tab with a stitched finish appears on the lower hem to ensure genuine NB quality. The kit features NB Dry Technology to aid the removal of moisture from the body.
The goalkeeper kit will be green, with crew-neck collar and white logos. A special design appears on the sleeves, while the shorts and socks are kept clean.
“There is a huge sense of pride that comes with wearing an LFC shirt and it is always an honour, but this kit is special. Our 125th anniversary is a great moment for us all to celebrate our heritage and this kit really reflects that, especially as it features the anniversary crest – we’ll wear it with pride.”
– Johan Henderson, Liverpool FC Captain.
